Become a Hospice Volunteer
If you have a passion for caring for others, and if you’re looking for a way to make a difference in people’s lives, you should consider becoming a Hospice Volunteer. Our volunteers provide companionship and support to patients and their loved ones by reading with them, working on craft projects, assisting with pet therapy, helping with light gardening, and participating in memorial services. These are just a few of the many ways you can serve others as an Amedisys Hospice Volunteer.
Make a Donation to Hospice
Through a monetary gift to The Hospice Fund, administered by Amedisys’ Christen Foundation, you can lend a hand to terminally ill patients and family members who may not have the financial resources to pay for basic needs such as food, utilities or medications. This fund also is used to support patients’ last wishes, community activities, end-of-life care education and bereavement services. Through your generosity, you can give patients peace of mind so they can focus on living the rest of their days with dignity, free of pain, and within the comforting surroundings of home, family and friends – regardless of their financial situation. You can make a lasting difference in someone’s life through the following:
- Memorial gifts
- Honorary gifts
- Gifts of appreciation
- Charitable gift annuities
- Stocks or mutual funds
- Trusts or life insurance
All donations and in-kind gifts are tax deductible under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code. To learn more about how you can help others – at a time when they need it most – please call us at 800.467.2662.
