Giving Back to Our Local Communities
Christen Foundation
The Christen Foundation is Amedisys’ charitable private foundation, which allows all of our agencies, corporate departments, and other corporate sponsors to give back to the local communities in which we serve. For this reason, the Company created the Foundation in which financial contributions can be made to fund 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations as well as Amedisys employees and/or their families who are in need of financial assistance. Since its inception, the Foundation has assisted more than 650 separate individuals and charities in need including the Boy Scouts of America, Boys & Girls Clubs, the Make a Wish Foundation and the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund (supporting relief efforts around hurricanes Katrina and Rita).
Contributing to Medical Science
We believe that the way we care for our nation’s elderly population will have implications for generations to come. Therefore, it is imperative that we continuously improve medical science to combat the prevalent, chronic diseases most of us will face at some time in our lives. With that in mind, Amedisys contributes annually to the following organizations that have advanced medical science to help improve the lives of people who are living with chronic disease.
